Ukraine to analyze alleged prisoner taking pictures video

Ukraine’s deputy prime minister on Saturday stated authorities will examine video footage that Moscow says exhibits Ukrainian forces killing Russian troops.

Olha Stefanishyna stated it’s “impossible” the footage truly depicts what Moscow describes, however that “in fact Ukrainian authorities will examine this video.”

Russia says the footage exhibits Ukrainian forces attacking troopers who could have been making an attempt to give up. Moscow’s Overseas Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote on Telegram that the clips, which circulated on Russian social media, have been proof of an “execution.”

Russia’s Protection Ministry has demanded a world investigation into the footage, and Russia’s United Nations consultant Dmitry Polyanski said on Twitter that he’d asked U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres to deliver the matter to the Safety Council and the Normal Meeting.

Stefanishyna insisted that Ukraine is just not involved in killing prisoners of conflict, which will be swapped for Ukrainians in prisoner exchanges with Russia.

“Each potential executed Russian soldier is a few Ukrainian that isn’t capable of be exchanged, so the spirit and logic is just not there,” Stefanishyna stated.
